What is the process of receiving treatment for Insurance patients at your facility?
Once you visit our facility, the first step is the identification process. At the reception, we shall determine whether you are the rightful client by verification of your identification documents. We then determine your eligibility through biometric mode or OTP identification modes provided by your dental insurance companies. We shall then embark on treatment procedure.
Different dental insurance covers have different procedures; there are some that require an online pre-authorization request before any procedure is conducted. Our dentists will conduct a medical examination first, then write a pre-authorization request depending on the most urgent treatment that can be conducted in one visit. There are other insurances that allow for direct treatment without pre-authorization. You will be informed at the reception accordingly.
Some Insurances have a faster turnaround time and will respond to preauthorization request within 10-30 minutes of the pre-authorization. However, some insurances will take longer (up to a number of days before responding to these requests). Once your request is approved by the insurance, you will receive treatment. The purpose of the pre-authorization request is to enable the insurance evaluate the nature of the treatment requested against the cost as provided for by your dental cover. Can I use my NHIF card at your dental clinic?
NHIF has various schemes namely; National Scheme, Civil Service Scheme, National Police Service Scheme and other enhanced schemes like Kenya Association of Retired officers (KARO) among others. Majority of the population are under the National Scheme which is composed of Self -employed individuals, employees in the private sector, employees under contract terms in Government agencies and interns.

How long do I have to wait to get treated using my NHIF Card?
Just like other insurances, NHIF members will undergo the same procedure of identification through the use of original identification copies. After this process is complete, you will be required to fill in NHIF pre-authorization forms after examination by the doctor. We will then send your pre-authorization forms to the NHIF requesting for treatment. Once we get approval from the NHIF, we shall proceed with the treatment under NHIF terms of service.
